A field trip for a limited number of participants is currently planned for September 10th–13th in Val di Fassa and neighboring areas, Western Dolomites, Italian Alps.
The field trip will include visits to some geological localities related to the Permo-Triassic sedimentary and magmatic sequence of Wester Dolomites. Examples of possible outcrops are sills, dikes, pillow lavas, lava flows, breccias, carbonate platforms, terrigenous to carbonatic and evaporitic sequences, and metamorphic aureoles. All surrounded by breathtaking views on the mountain peaks of Western Dolomites.
The hikes are easy, but will involve several hours/day of walking. The weather can change quickly and so all-weather hiking equipment is suggested.
On-site participation at the School (more info here) is required for field trip registration.
Registration fee is 340 € and will include transportation from/to Trieste, cable car and chair lift facilities, hotel in Predazzo (Val di Fiemme) with accommodation in multiple shared rooms (breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner included).
Registrations for field trip are closed.
